Control and Data Radio System
The water system supervisory control and data acquisition radio system.
DESCRIPTION
PROJECT ID: | W 5.0 |
ESTIMATED COST: | $30,000 |
ACTUAL COST: | TBD |
- Replaces the city’s antenna radio system at five reservoirs, six well sites and seven booster
pump stations - Work will include a radio survey to ensure all control points can be connected into the
system with the new equipment
WHY IT’S NEEDED
The current antenna radio system is 18 years old and needs frequent repairs. Lacking a hardwired, fiber-optic cable system, the city relies on a wireless radio at each of the city’s water system sites. A typical lifespan is 10-15 years, after which repair parts become difficult to find.
Replacement will improve operations, avoid outages, and ensure reliability in the city’s critical infrastructure.
