Lift Station No. 6 Reconstruction

Lift Station No. 6.

DESCRIPTION

PROJECT ID: S 13.0
ESTIMATED COST: $600,000
ACTUAL COST: $612,737*
  • Includes a well structure, pumps, internal piping and electrical and control system upgrades
  • Additional property may be needed to accommodate construction and increased wetwell size
  • Odor control system will be included
  • Design will include evaluation of extending gravity sewer line to Lift Station No. 3 under Highway 395. May be more cost effective than replacing both lift stations independently.

*Savings of nearly $80,000 by delaying paving and sidewalk development as part of upcoming N. 1st Place Road Improvement Project.

WHY IT’S NEEDED

Lift Station No. 6 was built in 1981 and the submersible duplex pump station has experienced corrosion on metal and concrete. The existing structure is 22 feet deep and receives all discharges from the community pool, and the wetwell’s capacity is insufficient to accommodate sewage flows without excessive pump cycles. A larger wetwell will provide more time between pump cycles, simultaneously providing a buffer against overflows and system backups.
