- Replaces about 4,800 feet of asbestos concrete water main with 8-inch ductile iron pipe in two sections:
- W. Highland Ave. between S.W. 4th Street and S.E. 4th Street
- S. 1st Street between W. Orchard Ave. and W. Highland Ave.
- Tees, valves, hydrants, and service lines will also be replaced.
WHY IT’S NEEDED
This project will eliminate failing, deteriorating and undersized lines; reduce repair work; and improve public safety. Proposed pipe replacements will remove some of the oldest pipes within the City water system.
