Lift Station No. 3 Upgrades

Lift Station No. 3 is underneath Highway 395.

DESCRIPTION

PROJECT ID: S 15.0
ESTIMATED COST: $450,000
ACTUAL COST: $1,407,783.49*
  • Extends a gravity line to Lift Station No. 6, which is also in poor shape (see W 13.0). Extending the line under Union Pacific Railroad tracks is more cost effective than replacing both lift stations
  • Traffic control will be necessary

* Challenges encountered with boring under the railroad required demobilization and a significant change in the equipment necessary to complete the job, which led to significant cost increases from the original estimate.

WHY IT’S NEEDED

Lift Station No. 3 was built in approximately 1981 and located underneath Highway 395. The pump and electrical systems need to be replaced.
