- Includes mechanical system painting, repair and sealing of concrete surfaces.
- Recently installed drop bowl minimizes the impacts from inflows landing directly on the top of the pumps, a reduction in suspended air in the water, and a reduction in the off-gassing of hydrogen sulfide.
- To complete this work, bypass pumping will need to be installed and maintained during construction.
WHY IT’S NEEDED
Lift Station No. 5 is one of the city’s newer lift stations. There is paint flaking on the pumps and hydrogen sulfide corrosion on interior surfaces from the raw sewage. Without upgrades, the mechanical equipment will need premature replacement.
